Our team
Salt + Light Team in Uganda
We have a very dedicated group of talented people who run and manage our Children's Home and Primary School. Above you see teachers, overseers for the children and the original team of Fred and Alice, the couple that started this all with me back in 2019.
Where we are
We have been working with women in the Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement since 2019 establishing micro-businesses, discipleship programs and community outreach.
In 2021 we formed women's discipleship groups in the Kyaka Refugee Settlement as well as building Center for Women, where they can gather.
We have expanded our reach in 2026 by starting women's discipleship programs in Nakivale and Orunchinga refugee camps.
Our values
Each woman and child is known by God. Our ministry's goal is to get the Word of God into their hands in a language and format that they understand so they can learn about Him, what He has done for them and how to know Him better.
The woman above holds an Audio Bible (Proclaimer) in her hands. She has a listening group that meets every week. In between she listens to the New Testament in her language in the marketplace each day as she works as a tailor. Others come by and sit and listen with her. Just one of the many ways the Good News is spreading.
Our mission
To bring Scripture and Scripture related materials/programs into areas that would otherwise have none. We bring the Word of God into communities in a way that that is relevant and meaningful for them, thereby becoming salt +light.
Each area we are working in has a unique set of opportunities and challenges. Community development is just part of how we show love for the people. Our goal is to empower them and help them become self-sufficient in all they do.

How it all started - Salt + Light
What started as a friendship and desire to help women in refugee areas in the West Nile area of Uganda, years later has blossomed into a ministry where thousands of women + children are being discipled daily.
